More Pyrex In Action

Christmas cookies from December of 2010. Really good. Standard recipe from the chocolate chip bag only with M&M's instead of chips.

Shells

Crocheted bedspread on the line after washing.

Pop Art In Onion

Pretty red onion being sliced up for vegetable soup, and the soup! From November 2010.

Still Life In Pink

Some old photos from October of 2010, red grapes with curly stems in a Pyrex "Gooseberry" fridgie.

Pawprints

In January some mysterious kitty left a trail of dusty pawprints on my car overnight. ^^

Lovely in Yellow

Some pansies from February.

Pineapple Upside Down Cupcakes

Made pineapple upside-down cupcakes in March, thought I'd post a pic here so I can remember to make them again! You make them just like the cake, only smaller. :) Soooo good.

Ripple Afghan

I've started making an afghan from the gorgeous pattern Neopolitan Ripple, from here:
http://greetingarts.typepad.com/greetingarts/2010/05/neopolitan-ripple.html

I liked it because of the softness of the wave. I started a Crochetalong on Craftster, although so far I'm in the canoe and paddling alone, haha:

Mine will be cream, beige, and green. I also signed up on Ravelry for another year of 12" squares, so that will take some catching up.

May 3, 2012

I know I've mostly abandoned this blog for a few years. My focus has been on writing rather than crafts. I missed the old template and all the old buttons and badges I'd collected in the sidebar, but I didn't feel like fiddling with code anymore. Most of all I missed the pictures at the top of my Rosie and Lily who are now both over the rainbow bridge. The whole blog made me nostalgic and wistful.

But I've started a couple of new projects and I need a place to gab about them and post pics. I've got better net access again and can navigate Craftster once more. I might try to rebuild Squirrel's Worlds.

Barnum's Animals

I've always been a big fan of animal crackers. Simple, sweet, cute, delicious, and you can share them with your dog. What's not to love? So when I spotted my favorite cookie in a different-looking box, I had to buy one and find out what was up. The art on the box is by Lilly Pulitzer, in partnership with Operation Smile.

Here is a Cracker Tracker, where you can put a pin on a map to show where you found your special box! I entered mine! :)

The Best Soap Ever

After field-testing numerous soaps from numerous sellers, I have to say the very best are from:

Herbaria

Their licorice soap is probably my favorite... it smells FANTASTIC. I also love their Almond Green Tea, Bay Rum, French Lavender, Old Fashioned Lye, Almond Spice, and Rose Geranium, and dearly hope to get to try all the rest of their scents.

Gorgeous Soap!

Wow, I haven't updated this blog in... over a year?! Anyway, I'm here to talk about soap. I just bought some truly amazing soap from a shop on etsy called AuntNancysSoap:

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5188140

I bought a bar of lavender, a bar of rose clay, and a bar of Fleurs D'Oranger. Second pic shows the Fleurs D'Oranger, it is so beautiful with a swirly layer of rose clay on top, and it smells SO GOOD!

With their wonderful, pure, natural ingredients, I've become A TOTAL CONVERT to handmade soaps. I've been buying them from several places, like the wonderful:

www.herbariasoap.com

with their deliciously scented Almond Green Tea and spicy Bay Rum, to name my two favorites so far...

plus I purchased a TRULY ASTOUNDING bar of organic lavender from another etsy seller:

I've got some more stuff on order from various places, will keep you posted on the good stuff!

Progress

The Tulip Throw continues along. It's a nice TV project, simple to crochet. It's fun picking out the next flower color.
